Small Business Training For All

The fact that small business training might be more valid for larger organization is rooted in the fact that the small business owner and employees are more likely to build relationships with their customers in comparison to their large company competitors and peers. The small business training provides a more personalized approach to their customer care programs, and although certain organizations may enforce a professional approach towards handling their customers, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being friendly and encouraging a type of relationship between customers and staff, obviously within the required borders.

This small business training mindset allows for the employees to push the boundaries a little further and encourages more of a personal and caring approach with respect to handling the large corporations customers, a value added area where large corporations tend to lose customers because of the 'automated' perception of the large business as well as the perceived bureaucracy.

By approaching the process of training in a large organization with the mindset of a small business training action plan, everything becomes more personal within the organization. A more focused approach becomes apparent as each and every employee can provide valuable input, thereby fine tuning the training curriculum for each relevant department.

Obviously the small business benefits from training too, however in some instances the small business owner does not see the relevance of training for his or her organization. This is largely due to the fact that the owner has grown with the company, and has not realized the need to train or impart their expertise on the younger or newer employees of the company. This can be due to two issues, the first being that the business owner has taken for granted the fact that his or her subordinates are up to speed with regards to customer services, systems and procedures or due to the fact that the owner does not want to lose control over the business and wants to run everything themselves.

By implementing a small business training or similar program in both large and small businesses you will not only contribute to the development of the staff that are being trained, but also to the overall ethos of the company and the customer service ethic that exists within the company. By using the term small business training, we are referring to a more flexible approach to the training and resulting outcomes that can lead to better customer service, customer care and overall satisfaction by customers, employees and management.

Small business training can be effectively implemented across large and small companies and offers that flexibility to be done on both small and large groups, although greater success will be achieved on the small groups.
